June 12, 2013 will be a day I will never forget.  I received a call after midnight from my sister telling me our eighteen year old nephew, Zack, had been admitted to the Emergency Room.  He was unconscious and not breathing.  The doctors were putting him on life support and his organs were beginning to shut down.  He was dying!  As we made the three hour drive to the hospital we prayed for God’s mercy on Zack and asked family and friends to please pray.

We were an hour away from the hospital when I got the news he was beginning to wake up!  This was a MIRACLE!  He was on life support for less than twenty four hours and he was waking up.

A night of heavy drinking and bad choices led him to a blood alcohol level of 3.67 .  Zack had been on a prodigal journey the past few years drinking, doing drugs, and making choices that led to almost dying on June 12, 2013. He knows now beyond a shadow of a doubt, God has allowed him a second chance at life. 

He is a living miracle and has committed to live his life to the fullest and to serve God with all his heart and soul.  He is determined to use his life as a living testimony.  While I am sad he had to go through what he did, I am grateful and proud of him for where he is today. 

I have always said, “If there is breath, there is hope”, however, God opened my eyes to the fact that even if there isn’t breath, there is STILL hope!  God will not be put in a box and His mercies are new every morning.  There is ALWAYS hope!

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:22-24

For nothing is impossible with God  Luke 1:37   

Let the sinner give up his way, and the evil-doer his purpose: and let him come back to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for there is full forgiveness with him.  Isaiah 55:7
